Metamorphoses - The Anti-Epic

Metamorphoses is a Latin recital meter written by the poet Ovid. Ovid was a Roman poet during the days of Augustus. Metamorphoses is considered Ovids magnus opum (great drill) and consist of 15 books and roughly 250 Greek and Latin myths. The myths in Metamorphoses chronicle the fib of the world from creation to insert day in Ovids time. Although Metamorphoses meets the criteria for the expansive genre some scholars have also considered the work to be an anti- desperate. An anti-epic is a snatch of literary work that challenges the conventions of the epic genre of literature. \nAn epic is a massive narrative poem told on a meretricious scale containing stories about armies, heroes, marvellous beings and forces of nature over long character arcs. In quaint epics the hero is usually a being of unbelievable stature. superannuated heros are typically part divine o r at least favored by the gods and accomplishes feats of superhuman strength or valor. Other general characteristics of the epic genre are:\na. The poem begins with the invocation of a think over to inspire the poet, a charm to the appropriate supernatural being. \nb. Since nearly ancient epics began as ad-lib narratives, the poet generally employs several rhetorical and poetic devices such as figures of speech (similies, metaphors, etc.) and repeated phrases to assistant in remembering events.\nc. Gods or supernatural beings frequently step in in the action to charm the outcome \nd. Generally superlative a single exactly vast topic. Some epics hug historical events, for example the Illiad covers the fifth column War.
